API 5L X52 PSL1 & PSL2 Line Pipe with 3LPE Coating — Multi-Size to Nigeria

4,500 pcs · 2″/4″/6″ SCH 80 · 60.3–168.3 mm · 3LPE 3 mm · Lagos

Application

Oil and gas flow lines and gathering lines; offshore and onshore pipelines; water and wastewater infrastructure; cooling water systems in Nigeria.

Multi-size pipe packages are common in Nigeria's mid-tier field development projects, where gathering system design requires several pipe diameters to match flow rates from wellheads, through manifolds, to the trunk line. This 4,500-piece order covered three sizes (2″, 4″, and 6″) in SCH 80 wall, all coated with 3LPE for direct burial installation.

Why SCH 80 across all three sizes? Schedule 80 provides a conservative wall thickness margin beyond the minimum required for typical gathering-line pressures (below 150 bar). Nigerian field operators often standardise on SCH 80 for small-bore gathering pipe to allow future pressure up-ratings without repiping, and to improve mechanical resistance during installation and backfill operations.

PSL1 vs PSL2 mix: This supply included both PSL1 and PSL2 orders across the three sizes. PSL2 lines carry controlled toughness and chemistry documentation required for sour-service tie-ins or as required by the operator's asset integrity system; PSL1 lines handle non-sour, non-critical gathering laterals.

3LPE coating at small diameters: Applying 3LPE to 2″ and 4″ seamless pipe requires careful mandrel handling and end-cutback management during coating — ZC's coating partner maintains specialised small-bore coating lines capable of uniform polyethylene application down to 2″ OD without defects at the cutback transition.

ZC Steel Pipe supplied per-size MTC (separate EN 10204 3.1 certificates for PSL1 and PSL2 material), DIN 30670 coating test reports, and a consolidated packing list with per-joint heat and weight traceability for Nigerian customs clearance.
